The National Office of Miss Gay America has issued a statement regarding responsible pageantry during a Global Pandemic. In a statement released Sunday, November 15, 2020 it was said that Masks and/or face shields must be worn at all times except by a contestant when said contestant is onstage during a judged category.
“Because we take public health seriously, and realize our actions or lack thereof, could jeopardize the health and well-being of others, if these guidelines are not followed, contestants will be disqualified from the competition. Although we do not like to police the actions of others, the gravity of this pandemic must be taken seriously. The situation should be considered “fluid” and can/will change as public health conditions improve”
This policy will go into effect Monday, November 16, 2020
